چکیده

In the present work performance of finite element formulations with different reduced integration strategies is evaluated for Contact Mechanics applications. One-point quadrature and selective are utilized here using hourglass control to suppress volumetric shear locking materials incompressible plastic behavior bending-dominated problems. A corotational formulation adopted deal physically geometrically nonlinear analysis generalized-α method employed time in dynamic range. The contact based on penalty method, where classical Coulomb’s law used considering a convected coordinate system three-dimensional friction large deformation sliding. problems involving deformable rigid bodies, as well static analysis, investigated results analyzed underintegration proposed here.

Geometric Nonlinear Dynamic Analysis of Plates and Shells Using Eight-Node Hexahedral Finite Elements with Reduced Integration

This work presents a geometric nonlinear dynamic analysis of plates and shells using eight-node hexahedral isoparametric elements. The main features of the present formulation are: (a) the element matrices are obtained using reduced integrations with hourglass control; (b) an explicit Taylor-Galerkin scheme is used to carry out the dynamic analysis, solving the corresponding equations of motion...

Automated Remeshing with Hexahedral Elements: Problems, Solutions, and Applications

The design process of a mesh generation tool for automatic remeshing of hexahedral element meshes is shown as well as its application to the field of simulating metal forming processes. Automatic hexahedral remeshing is very important allowing an economic analyses of processes with large deformation. Although the industry demands robust tools for automatic hexahedral remeshing, previously there...

History-dependent hemivariational inequalities with applications to Contact Mechanics

In this paper we survey some of our recent results on the existence and uniqueness of solutions to nonconvex and nonsmooth problems which arise in Contact Mechanics. The approach is based on operator subdifferential inclusions and hemivariational inequalities, and focuses on three aspects. First, we report on results on the second order history-dependent subdifferential inclusions and hemivaria...

Tetrahedral and hexahedral invertible finite elements

We review an algorithm for the finite element simulation of elastoplastic solids which is capable of robustly and efficiently handling arbitrarily large deformation. In fact, the model remains valid even when large parts of the mesh are inverted. The algorithm is straightforward to implement and can be used with any material constitutive model, and for both volumetric solids and thin shells suc...
